• I've played alot of vintage danelectros but I own a 2000 DC '59 reissue. It seems like the newer ones have hotter pickups than the vintage ones. All danelectros are really solid guitars and are super light. My reissue is my "throw around" guitar because of it's durability.

I picked up a Danelectro U2 for $350 AU brand new. It's the 2010 reissue made in China. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about them. Wasn't happy with the matt hardware and crappy tuners. The guitar itself was quite good, great sound out of the pickups, didn't play too badly, just felt cheap. It needed a lot of work out of the box.
